  • THE ACADEMIC COMMON MARKET PROGRAM (ACM) ADMINISTERED BY THE SOUTHERN REGIONAL EDUCATION BOARD (SREB)

The Academic Common Market is a cooperative tuition-reduction agreement among the Southern Regional Education Board states (click to see participating states.) If a public institution in South Carolina does not offer the degree program in a student's desired field of study, it may be possible to arrange a waiver of out-of-state tuition for that student to attend a cooperating public institution of higher education in another participating state.  Eligible programs are those programs which are at least 50 percent different in curricular content from the programs offered in South Carolina.  The student must be accepted into the preferred degree program on a full-time basis and must complete and submit the Request for Certification of South Carolina Residency Form.
