Mr. Fritz Mason

I am honored to introduce myself to the students, parents, staff and members of the Aiken Community. I have 11 years of experience in education, and I am honored to serve Aiken County as an assistant principal at Aiken High School.

Originally from Marion, SC, I earned my Bachelor of Arts at Wofford College. From Wofford, I earned a Master’s degree in Journalism and Communications at USC. After working in media, I joined the South Carolina Department of Education under the leadership of former State Superintendent Dr. Mick Zais.

While at the Department of Education, I visited over seventy schools across our great state. Because of those school visits, I saw a need for an African American male presence in the classroom. I moved to Georgia with my family and began teaching special education and English. While teaching and coaching in Gwinnett County, I had the pleasure of working with outstanding students, parents, and educators. In addition, I earned an Education Specialist degree from Nova Southeastern University and my certificate in administration.

After returning to South Carolina, I taught at Ridge View High School; and subsequently served as assistant principal at Midlands Middle College in Columbia.

As a new member of ACPSD, I am looking forward to learning and working in Aiken County. Building successful relationships with students, parents, staff members, and other stakeholders is a key component of educational success. My goal is to strengthen those relationships within the Aiken community.

My wife, Tracey, along with our children, Joseph and Jasmine, are all excited about becoming a part of the Aiken Community.
