ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties may be assigned. Assumes responsibility for keying systems and repairs; issuance of keys and security cards and replacement of keys and cards upon loss. Repairs and recommends supplies and equipment for door and bathroom partition hardware. Orders and accounts for material and labor relative to assignments, accurately. Maintains all safety and code requirement of the State, local and Board of Ed. guidelines. Recommends supplies and equipment for purchase, and maintains the inventory of district-owned hand tools, equipment, hardware, materials and supplies. Completes all assigned routine and planned maintenance within a reasonable time period. Communicates with General Foreman or working Foreman on a scheduled basis to discuss current and anticipated workload. Maintains on call status 24 hours a day. May be required to drive a company vehicle to perform certain job duties to any location within the District. Performs other duties as may be assigned by the Supervisor. JOB SPECIFICATIONS EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Two years experience Locksmith experience. Thorough knowledge of keying systems. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. REASONING ABILITY: Ability to interpret and apply common sense understanding in carrying out instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form. Ability to analyze information and use logic to address work related issues and problems. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
