Welcome to my page!  Many of you may know me as Ms. Carey from when I started teaching in 1996 during my elementary days.  My mother, Gwen Carey, began her teaching career at the elementary school, and my father, Lyndon Carey, was the principal and Assistant. Superintendent in this area.  Through the years,  I have had the pleasure of teaching 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and special education.  I also taught 6 years with the ACPSD Summer Migrant program as an upper level teacher, and I have taught alternative education at CIL when it was a night time program with high school students. This year I moved from elementary school to middle school to take the middle level self-contained class, as well as a 7th grade Learning Strategies class. 

I have 5 grandchildren ranging from 4th grade to 12th grade, who all attend RSM and take part in as many activites as they possibly can.  I serve as Secretary of the RSM M/H PTO.  In my spare time I enjoy reading, painting, camping, swimming, cooking out, and just being with my friends and family.  My husband Ronnie and I live in New Holland with our boxer, Piper. We love watching Carolina Football and taking weekend trips to Beaufort, our favorite get-away.

I am excited about this year as it brings new opportunities for me.  I feel very positive that together this will be one of our best years yet.  I have an open-door policy, so if you ever have any questions or concerns, I am here for you.
