Ms. Michelle Fernandez
This year I will begin my 24th year of teaching at Byrd Elementary. I grew up in North Augusta and graduated from NAHS in 1994. I attended USC Aiken where I earned my Bachelors Degree and Masters Degree in Elementary Education. I have two wonderful children and 2 dogs named Jax and Oliver. I love watching college football and I am a die-hard Carolina Gamecock fan! I love to spend my spare time with my family and friends. I enjoy drawing, painting, making crafts, watching sports, and curling up to read a good book. I was chosen as Byrd Elementary's Teacher of the Year for (2015-2016) and I currently serve on several different committees at our school. I served as a member of the ACPSD Teacher Forum and a member of the ACPSD Teacher Advisory Board. Teaching has been my dream since I was a young child and I am truly grateful that God blessed me with the gift of being able to live my dream every day!
