Bachelor's Degree in English Education from Augusta College (1992) Master's Degree in Secondary English Education from Augusta State University (2008)

Ms. Laurie Frazier

I am so glad to be starting my 31st year as an educator at Aiken High School because I am a Hornet at heart!  I graduated from Aiken High School, and its very satisfying to be able to give back to my alma mater.

I have taught in Aiken County for 30 years, but this is my 31st year overall as an educator.  I previously taught at Kennedy Middle School (1993-1995), Aiken Middle School (1995-1996), North Augusta Middle School (1996-2018), and Schofield Middle School (2019-2020).  Additionally, I taught one year in West Columbia, but Aiken County will always be home to me.  Being able to teach in a school where I actually attended helps me feel connected to my community.

I have two beautiful and intelligent daughters.  Meghann is a 5th grade teacher at Redcliffe Elementary School, and Kristen is a registered nurse and is working for Pruitt Health as a Hospice nurse.  I have four wonderful and unique grandchildren - Frazier, 14, (an 8th grader at Highland Springs Middle School), Lander, 6, (a kindergarten student at Redcliffe Elementary School, Emmalyn, 5, (a 4K student), and Lennon, 2, and most of my spare time is spent with them!  They keep me grounded and young at heart!

I plan to encourage, support, and challenge my students to be the best possible version of themselves so that when they leave Aiken High School, they will possess the skills and confidence needed to succeed in college, technical/trade schools, or any path they take in life.  And every day, my students are told to "respect your education."  I believe EVERY child can succeed!

"Education is the most powerful education we can use to change the world."  (Nelson Mandela)
