Congratulations to our very own Librarian Mrs. Glessner on receiving the prestigious Golden Apple Award presented by WJBF News Channel 6, Augusta Flooring, Great Deals on Furniture, and Kroger!
Mrs. Glessner was nominated by her colleague, Nina Dorman, for her devotion to her students, innovation with engaging activities, and her excellent communication skills.
“Mrs. Glessner goes the extra mile for each one of her students,” Dorman said. “If there is a particular book a student wants to read, Mrs. Glessner tries to get it for circulation. If a student has read every novel we have, she goes to the public library on her own time to get books for the student to read.”
Mrs. Glessner excels in promoting national celebrations like Native American, Hispanic Heritage, Women’s History and Black History months, ensuring they get the recognition they deserve.
She also makes sure students are engaged and learning using innovation ways to connect by playing bingo, hosting trivia, and creating scavenger hunts for her students.
