Ms. Crozier’s Parent Letter
6th Grade – 2022-2023
Dear Parent(s) and Students,
I am looking forward to working with you and your child during the 2023-24 school year. I feel confident that this year’s learning experience will provide your child with math skills that they will be able to utilize in today’s world. The following information will help you have a successful year in my class.
Supplies
It is extremely important for students to bring the following items to class every day.
- Math textbook
- Loose leaf paper
- Binder - 1-inch with pencil pouch in it
- Pencils (Pens are rarely utilized in my class.)
- Computer and Charger
Grades
The grade breakdown is as follows:
Major assignments: Tests/quizzes/projects…………………………………………….60%
Minor assignments: Homework/classwork/journal entries………………………...…..40%
Make-Up Work
When a student is absent, it is the student’s responsibility to find out what work was missed. The student should check with the teacher for assignments on the day he/she returns. Students will have five days to make up the work. Failure to do so will result in a zero. Absences are the lone exception. A student is not expected to take the test the day he/she returns from illness. Quizzes/Tests may be made up during acceleration or after school. The final day to accept work will be one week prior to the day the grades are due, so that I will have ample time to submit all grades.
Classroom Rules:
- No talking without permission.
- Raise your hand to ask a question or to provide input.
