Hello, Everyone!

I am Diane Knight, your ELA teacher for the 2023-2024 school year, here at Highland Springs.  It is with great excitement that I say - You will come to love language arts!

I have been teaching for over 25 years, and I have taught everything except science. I began in social studies, moved to language arts, moved to reading and math enrichment, and then moved back to language arts and reading. My love has always been reading and writing, so that's what I have taught the most. 

I am a graduate of Benedict College, where I received a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education, with a Highly Qualified status in middle level social studies and language arts. I also have a Master's degree in Classroom Leadership from Southern Wesleyan University. 

In the past, I have assisted with homework centers and tutorial programs, Beta Club, Mock Trial, and cheer. This year, I will sponsor Pro Team.  

On a personal note, I am a lover of all things faith and family, including my furry one Alphie.
