      My name is Katie Craig. I love being a Graniteville Elementary Gator! This year, I am a math interventionist and teaching Math Lab. I am proud that I was chosen as Graniteville Elementary's first Teacher of the Year ever for the 2020-2021 school year. The 2023-2024 school year will be as amazing as we make it and I am planning for year full of learning experiences, goalsetting, and goal-reaching! I am also a tennis coach for Midland Valley High School. I believe staying active and motivated will help students throughout life.

      I am married to my amazing husband. My son, Ryan, is beginning his junior year at Clemson University and my daughter, Lily, is excited to be entering USC-A this fall. Their childhoods passed by quickly and I really miss the days when they were home with me so my best advice for parents/guardians is to MAKE THE MOST OF THESE PRECIOUS YEARS. My family leads an active lifestyle and we enjoy being outdoors, especially out on the lake.  Some of my favorite things in life are hiking, Reese's Cups, reading, coffee, tennis, board games, long runs, kayaking, and kind students who are eager to learn. My heart is also in animal rescue and I think caring for the well-being of animals is an important quality in a person. I am originally a North Carolina girl, but I am slowly becoming a South Carolinian.
