Mrs. Michelle Padgett

Welcome to Graniteville Elementary! I am super excited to introduce myself.  I am Michelle Padgett, the principal of Graniteville Elementary.  I have been the principal of Graniteville Elementary since we were established in August of 2019. I come to you from Leavelle McCampbell Middle School where I was the principal for three years and Gloverville Elementary where I was the principal for seven years.  Before that I was an assistant principal and curriculum coordinator for three years and a teacher for 11 years. When I learned that we would be opening a new school in our community, I could not resist the opportunity to be a part of starting something new here in Graniteville. We have the very special opportunity to write history in Graniteville and to create a place that is unlike any other for our children to learn and grow.  As a parent, your involvement in our school will be essential.

This year our school theme is "Find Your Greatness".  We want to see all of students and staff find their greatness by committing to embrace a growth mindset and pursue their personal best.  As parents, you will have many opportunities to be involved in Graniteville as we partner together in Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) and School Improvement Council (SIC).  Our partnership and your involvement will be cornerstones of the success of our school.

I look forward to seeing you soon!  Please be on the look-out for more information about Graniteville Elementary on our website at /GVES.   Please also follow us on Twitter @GVES_Gators and on Facebook.

In service to children,

Michelle Padgett

Mr. Clyde Jobes

Mr.?Clyde Jobes

Hello!

I am Clyde Anthony Jobes and I am thrilled to serve as Assistant Principal at Graniteville Elementary School. I am excited about working with the wonderful staff and students here.

Let me tell you a little about myself. Personally, I am originally from the beautiful city of Orangeburg, SC. I’m married to Mrs. Tasha Miller-Jobes. We have four amazing children. I’m also the proud grandfather to Miss Maliyah Bell (5), and Mr. Ja’Kari Guinyard (2).

Some of my hobbies are playing with my dogs, bowling and working in the yard. I am equally as good at bowling . . . bowling a strike . . . as I am working in the yard. It is very rewarding to cut and edge the lawn then sit back and bask in its beauty.

Professionally, I have a Master’s degree in School Leadership from Charleston Southern University and a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Early Childhood Education from South Carolina State University. While working in Orangeburg School Districts 3 and 5, respectively, I taught 1st grade for nine years and high school for half a year. I was the Assistant Principal at North Aiken Elementary for four years and Assistant Principal at Paul Knox Middle for two years. Prior to teaching, I served four years in the US Army and was stationed in Ft. Carson, CO.

I truly believe that children are to be placed high on our priority list because there is nothing more rewarding than seeing young minds flourish in an academically rich environment. I look forward to working with our students, their families, and all of our exceptional Graniteville staff members to create an amazing learning environment and bring our students the outstanding and rigorous educational experience they deserve.

Warm regards,

Mr. Jobes
