ASA scholars will be able to participate in marching band and their respective competitions in grades 9-12 without being enrolled in the course at the zoned high school. Scholars will be responsible for adhering to the director’s attendance requirements for practice, camps, events etc.; parents are responsible for providing transportation to such activities. Scholars will not earn a credit for participation in marching band and are not eligible for participation on other SC Band Director’s Association competitions, such as All County, All Region, All State, Solo, Ensemble, etc.
Once in dual enrollment scholars may take a band course at their zoned high school and then would qualify for participation in all SCBDA competitions. Enrollment in such courses is reliant upon the scholar’s USC Aiken schedule and their ability to provide transportation to the zoned school for class.
