Mrs. Michelle Hughes

Hello! My name is Michelle Hughes, and I'm thrilled to say that I have been teaching high school Math for the past 25 years. I grew up in Wisconsin and graduated with a  Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Mathematics and a minor in Spanish from the University of Wisconsin - LaCrosse. I later earned my Master of Education with an emphasis on technology from Marian University. I have spent the majority of my teaching career in the School District of Slinger teaching every possible math class a student could take, ranging from Pre-Algebra to AP Calculus. I have taught AP Calculus AB for the past six years in this district before moving to Aiken, South Carolina. I am excited to have the opportunity to teach at the Aiken Scholars Academy and to be your student’s Honors Algebra 2 or AP Calculus BC teacher.

My family and I made the move from Wisconsin to South Carolina two years ago. This summer we were fortunate to spend part of our time in the Santa Cruz area of California with my family.  We are happy to be back in Aiken for the start of a new school year. I enjoy exercising (biking and yoga), reading, watching movies, and spending time with my family.

Your student’s success is important to me and I look forward to working with you this semester.
