Hello, my name is Mrs. Young- formerly Miss. Knight. Welcome to first grade! I am so excited for this year. We are going to have a lot of fun and learn many new and exciting things! I grew up in Aiken with my parents and my brother. I am a product of Aiken County Public Schools as I went to Aiken Elementary, Schofield Middle, and Aiken High School (Go Hornets!)

This will be my sixth year of teaching. I am a graduate from USC Aiken where I received my South Carolina teaching certificate in Early Childhood Education. Previously, I worked in Aiken County as an Instructional Aide at the middle school level and as an elementary music teacher for acGateway. In addition to my teaching certificate, I have a Bachelors of Arts degree in Fine Arts- Music, also from USC Aiken. With this degree, I taught general music to student's ranging preschool to adult, in summer camps, weekly band programs, individual music lessons, and private school. I was blessed to hold these teaching positions for three years.

When I am not teaching, I enjoy playing music, shopping, and spending time with family and friends.
