NEW ELLENTON MIDDLE STEAM MAGNET SCHOOL ATHLETICS

  • Welcome to another year of New Ellenton Middle STEAM Magnet School Athletics. We are coming off of a very successful and exciting year and hope to add to that success and post many more accomplishments during the 2023-2024 school year as well.

In order to achieve any level of success, we ask for your continued support of our student-athletes, both on the field/court and in the classroom. Your presence at games as volunteers and as student mentors helps to drive our program to perform in each respective sport.

Students in 7th and 8th grades are eligible to play sports for New Ellenton Middle STEAM Magnet School. A current physical (dated April 1, 2020 or after) must be on file with the school in order to tryout. The physical form that the doctor will complete is available on the right. The Pre-participation form and Permission to Participate included with the doctor's physical must also be signed by the athlete's parent.  These forms are required by the South Carolina High School League.

Please be sure if your student is interested or considering being a member of ACPSD/NEMS Athletics that ALL forms below are reviewed and appropriately signed. The forms must be returned to the NEMS front office in order for your child to play. If you have questions, please contact the front office: 803-652-8200.

I thank you for your dedication and support of our Wolverines, and look forward to making this a great year for New Ellenton Middle STEAM Magnet School Athletics.

    Sincerely,

Angelita Jordan - NEMS Athletic Director

Mrs. Angelita Jordan

NEMS Athletic Director

It's great to be a Wolverine!

I am Angelita Jordan and this is my 4th year as Athletic Director for New Ellenton Middle STEAM Magnet School. Prior to becoming the athletic director, I coached basketball for three years here at NEMS and JV softball for two years at Silver Bluff High School.

Athletics play an important role in student education. Student athletes learn valuable skills such as communication, teamwork, and responsibility. Physical education, whether through class or sports, provides students the opportunity to learn how to move safely, maintain a healthy lifestyle and learn activities that can bring a lifetime of enjoyment. New Ellenton Middle STEAM Magnet School's athletes are expected to serve as role models for other students, including maintaining acceptable grades and appropriate behavior.   Our coaches work to instill positive character values in our student athletes while supporting academics.

Parental involvement in athletics is crucial to our student athlete success. We welcome your advocacy and encourage you to attend not only your student athlete's games, but all games in which New Ellenton Middle STEAM Magnet School is participating. Please contact me with any questions or concerns.

We are looking forward to a fantastic and successful year in sports!
