 Welcome to New Ellenton Middle STEAM Magnet School! We look forward to providing you a world class educational experience. New Ellenton Middle STEAM Magnet School has a history of fine academic and extracurricular accomplishments. We are proud of this tradition of excellence. 

 As a student at New Ellenton Middle STEAM Magnet School, you can benefit most by being actively involved in your academics. We are a STEAM school. STEAM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, & Math. STEAM is integrated into the curricula to create engaging, critical-thinking, technology and art-infused project-based instructional lessons. 

 Our faculty and staff are here to prepare you for high school and beyond. At New Ellenton Middle STEAM Magnet School, we have high expectations for ALL of our students. We will provide an instructional program as well as a plethora of opportunities designed to broaden your horizon, empower, enhance, stretch, and most importantly, educate you. So be sure to attend class every day, pay close attention in class, ask relevant questions, complete and turn in your homework, study nightly, and you will be successful!

It is with great honor and enthusiasm that I join the NEMS family. I am incredibly grateful and excited to accept this new role! I know I am joining a strong school culture synonymous with excellence, dedication, and collaboration.  My goal is to enhance this culture and provide all stakeholders with an uplifting educational experience.  

I am thrilled to welcome you to New Ellenton Middle STEAM Magnet School. NEMS is a great place to learn and grow, and I am delighted that you are a part of our amazing learning community. I welcome your positive energy and dedication to excellence.  

Our skilled and devoted staff have planned and prepared an incredible and productive school year. All things have been set in motion to surround each student in a joyous and caring community with the common goals of nurturing each other and promoting high-level learning for all. This will also require a total commitment to excellence from parents and community stakeholders. I ask you to become an active participant in our educational community. We offer several opportunities for stakeholders to be involved in the education process. Please consider joining the School Improvement Council and P.T.O. We are always looking for mentors and volunteers to help our students. 

Please take a moment to read the student agenda and handbook. Be aware of the procedures, rules, and policies that will have an impact on our educational environment. Knowing this information will give you the answers to most of the questions that may arise throughout the school year. It was developed as a guide and a referencing tool to help us provide a safe learning environment for all our students. 

All students are expected to do their very best. Our goal is to foster independent thinkers and promote a culture of safety and respect. We pride ourselves on being a community of learners where students and staff look for opportunities to learn from each other daily. We are committed to high academic expectations, mutual respect, and social responsibility. Moreover, the staff at NEMS has high expectations for all of our students and even higher expectations of ourselves. We will continue to dedicate our focus to improving student learning for all.
