• NEMS 2020 Science Fair Project Information

All 6th - 8th grade advanced science students at New Ellenton Middle STEAM Magnet School are required to create a science fair project. Conducting science projects directly supports and reinforces our STEAM learning environment. It enhances important 21st century skills such as problem solving, collaboration, critical thinking, communication, creativity, and technology.

Science projects allow students to exercise not only their scientific skills, but to practice project planning, time management, and presentation skills. Each student must design and implement a plan for uncovering the "who, what, when, where, why and how," of their investigation question.

Each student will be able to choose his or her science project. However, the subject of the science project and testing procedures MUST be PRE-APPROVED by the teacher and a parent/guardian.

How to create a successful science project:

Successful projects require pre-planningtesting specified variablescareful collection of dataresearch, and quality product assembly. Students have been instructed in class on how to create and follow scientific procedures. A large portion of the project will have to be done at home.

ALL SCIENCE PROJECTS ARE DUE FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 21.
