Mrs. Susan Johnson

Welcome to my webpage! I am so very glad you came by to visit me!

I'd like to share a little about myself. I am originally from a small suburb of Philadelphia, Pa. I attended elementary school, junior high, and senior high all in the same town. I graduated from West Chester University of Pennsylvania in 1990 with a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education. I taught Kindergarten in my home town's Christian school upon graduating. The income from teaching in private school is tough for a single girl to live on, so I began looking around the country for public schools that sounded interesting. I had family that I visited every summer in Aiken, so I thought it might be nice to at least try to find a position there. That was 32 years ago! I am now more "southern" than "northern"!

The first school that I taught here in Aiken County was Byrd Elementary. It was while I was there that I met my husband and had my first child. I moved on to Warrenville Elementary after my baby boy turned one and soon found out that baby number two was coming along not too long after! My husband and I are Empty Nester's now.

Our family resides in Aiken. We have 2 Australian Shepherds (they will be 2 in August) .They are herding dogs. We do not have cattle but they love to run our fenceline after our neighbors' horses! We also have a very serene koi pond with a beautiful waterfall that my husband designed several years ago. So many nights I go outside to just swing and listen to the beautiful sounds of the falling water or watch the colorful koi swim around... it's so peaceful.

In 2011, I decided to pursue a Masters degree from Liberty University. In May 2013, I walked with my graduating class to receive my Masters of Education in Early Childhood Curriculum and Design at the famous Thomas Road Baptist Church in Lynchburg, VA (Liberty University). I was so very proud of making such a giant professional and personal leap of faith.

I enjoy being with my family, both near and far. I always like to try out new restaurants or foods (at least once!) I love to shop, I love my plants and garden, and I love my Kinder-Babies (every last one of them)!
