Hello! Hola! Bonjour!! Welcome to the Multilingual Learner Program!
Did you know that 37 languages are spoken in our schools across Aiken County? These students represent people and communities from around the globe. Each day in our classroom brings much learning and appreciation for these diverse cultures. The Multilingual Learner Program in ACPSD provides English language support to ensure that multilingual learners acquire English language proficiency while also learning rigorous grade level content. I am excited to work with these learners as they find success and grow their English language skills. We are so proud of the cultural diversity in Aiken County Public Schools!
A Little Bit About Me..... I have enjoyed teaching for 30 years! Before joining the Multilingual Learner Specialist team in 2012, I taught 3rd, 4th and 5th grades. I have a Masters Degree in Reading from the University of South Carolina and a Masters Degree in Divergent Learning from Columbia College. I enjoy reading, playing with the animals on our farm, watching movies and hanging out with my family. I am married to my husband of 31 years and we have two children, Banks and Maggie.
