Hello, my name is Stephanie Morin and I live in North Augusta, South Carolina. I am currently beginning my sixteenth year as a School Media Specialist at North Augusta Elementary. Previously, I taught fifth grade (six years at North Augusta Elementary), seventh grade (one year) and eighth grade (three years).

As a librarian information specialist, I am responsible for connecting the informational needs of individuals with the most efficient and appropriate tools available. I feel that it is essential to provide the highest level of service while maintaining individual privacy. I feel that it is vital to ensure that informational services are provided in the most ethical manner possible without hindering accessibility. Creating and maintaining an environment which is organized and functions in a systematic manner helps to ensure that all individuals gain the knowledge they seek. Above all, I feel that it is imperative that librarians strive to develop and encourage the love of learning and reading in all individuals.

My main goal for my students is for them to develop information literacy skills that encompass the ability to find, use, and evaluate ideas and information, leading to becoming a productive life-long learner. I also do my best to incorporate teaching basic technology skills (word processing, internet searching, evaluating websites, and digital citizenship) in order to assist my students in developing a solid foundation to build upon in the upper grades. 

On nice weekends, I can generally be found fishing and reading at the lake with my husband and my dog, Maggie.
