• The Schofield Amateur Radio Club a.k.a. Ram Ham Radio Club was established in April 2009 through a generous grant from Savannah River Nuclear Solutions. The club is sponsored by volunteers from The North Augusta/Belvedere Radio Club. The club uses state of the art radio equipment & handy-talkies for its regular after school meeting held weekly each Thursday in the radio shack room from 3:10 to 4:30 as well as, its participation in competitive events. The club is open to any 7th & 8th grade students who are interested in participating & learning about amateur radio. The Schofield Amateur Radio Club has earned top nationwide accolades for its participation in the AARL School Club Round Up competitions – Feb 2019 1st Place National Category & 1st Place Middle School Category. 2018- Sixth Place National Category & 1st Place Middle School Category, 2017- 1st Place Middle School Category & Second Place National Category, 2016-1st Place Middle School Category & 3rd Place National Category and 2015-1ST Place National Category & 1st Place Middle School Category.     What will you do: Students will contact as many other school clubs/university clubs & hams as possible during the contest.

    What do I need before Oct. 21st: Students need to learn the Phonetic alphabet. It is the way we “spell” over the radio in a noisy environment.

    What do I need to bring: Only an interest in having fun & a strong radio voice.

    Can my parent come? Yes, your parents are very welcome. Tell them to come se you make contacts on the radio from all over the world.

    What if I can’t come every day? Come when you can & as often. Even a short time is fun & helps the school’s score in the School Club Round Up contest.

    How has Schofield don in other years in the School Club Round Up contest? Schofield place 1st in the National Category in 2019 & 1st in the Middle School Category. In 2018 Schofield place 6th in the National Category & 1st in the Middle School Category. The club has been recognized by the Aiken County School Board for their accomplishments.

    All 7th & 8th grade students are welcome to visit any day of the week long School Club Round Up competition!

    When: Monday-Feb. 21st – 1:00 to 6:30 p.m.*

    When: Tuesday, Feb. 22nd-25th - 3:10 to 6:30 p.m. *

    Wednesday, Feb 23- 1:10 to 6:00 p.m. *

    Thursday, Feb 24th- 3:10 to 6:30 p.m.*
