I am thrilled to continue serving as Principal of Oakwood-Windsor Elementary for the 2023-2024 school year! Our Wise Owl family is the best in the world and dedicated to ensuring each member reaches his/her fullest potential!

I grew up in the rural, small town of Wagener and became an educator with the intent of coming back to Aiken County after graduation so that I could positively impact students and families from communities like the one I grew up in. 

Previously, I have served as the Assistant Principal of Cyril B. Busbee Elementary School, an environment that has afforded me a wide-range of opportunities for professional learning. Before that, I served as an instructional coach at East Aiken School of the arts and I have spent many years teaching in communities across the district from Mossy Creek Elementary in North Augusta, to more rural area schools such as our very own Oakwood-Windsor and Busbee Elementary in Wagener. I am committed to helping students develop the skills necessary to become proficient in their educational experience in preparation for their futures. I strongly desire to help our Wise Owls discover that geography does not define them and that the world is full of possibilities within their reach. They truly can help to make the world a better place!

I have been married to my high school sweetheart, Michael Truitt, for almost 15 years. We have three wonderful children, Colton (9), Cooper (7) and Leia (5). I love to spend time with my family, travel and cook.

I am excited to serve as the Assistant Principal of Oakwood-Windsor Elementary School! The 2023-2024 school year will be my third year here, and I'm looking forward to seeing all of our students and families again! 

I spent 9 years teaching at Redcliffe Elementary School where I was a Lead Teacher for Aiken County, and I am honored to have been named the 2020-21 Teacher of the Year for Aiken County Public Schools.

I grew up in the small town of Jackson and graduated from Silver Bluff High School (Go Bulldogs!) 

I am looking forward to a new school year of learning and fun!
