Dear Family and Friends of the Wagener-Salley High School Community,

I am honored and humbled to be afforded this opportunity to serve as the principal of Wagener-Salley High School. In my 20+ years as an educator, I have taught middle and high school, coached several sports, advised numerous clubs, and served as an Assistant Administrator, Assistant Principal, and Instructional Coordinator. Sharing in this journey with me is my wife Amy, my son Rasheem Jr, and my daughters Imani and Naima.

Through all of these experiences in my educational and life journey, I have developed the belief that education is the greatest equalizer. As I grow as a person and an instructional leader, I understand that success does not rest where we begin but how we maximize our talents, pursuits, and purposes. As the newest member of the Wagener-Salley family, I seek to share this belief, lead with a servant's heart, and foster collaboration, so we can educate, motivate, and shape the futures of our children by helping them to become productive citizens and adults.

Mr. Neloms

Mr. Burnham is a graduate of Wagener Salley High School.  He went on to earn his Bachelor's Degree in History from Carson-Newman College, a Master's and Education Specialist Degree in Educational Leadership from Augusta State University.  His teaching and coaching career includes assignments at Aiken High School and Midland Valley High School.  He is also a retired Lieutenant Colonel after serving twenty-eight years with the United States Army.

When not at work, Mr. Burnham enjoys traveling with his wife Amy.
