  • A note from Mrs. Wilson:

It is hard to believe that we are in our 4th week of school. The students and teachers are in full swing and the learning I am seeing in our classrooms is exciting.

As the new is wearing off the school year, habits are being developed. This is a great time to begin or reinforce the practice of open communication with your child about what they are learning. Here are a few ideas to help get you started.

    • When you reconnect with your child after school, ask them to share one thing they learned today.
    • Ask leading questions such as “What story did you read today?” or “What did your teacher show you in math?”.
    • Have them teach you what they learned today. Children get excited when their audience is excited. Have fun with being their “student”.
    • Set a purpose each morning by telling them to pick their favorite lesson in each day to share with you that evening.

We look forward to seeing you at our Open House next Tuesday, August 22nd. The meeting will start in the cafeteria at 5:30 with our annual Title I meeting and updates from our PTO. Immediately following this brief meeting you will be invited to visit your children's classrooms. I hope you will all make plans to be here on that evening.

Thank you for your continued support!

    ~Patricia Wilson, principal
