Welcome to Mrs. Weaver's Class! A lot of you may know me as Ms. Kaune or even Ms. Bennett if you have been around JES a super long time!
A little about me, I graduated from University of South Carolina-Aiken in 2006 with a bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education. I also have a Gifted and Talented Endorsement from USCA. This is my 19th year teaching and I have been in third grade in the same room at Jefferson every year. I have loved every minute of it! I love teaching 3rd grade because there are so many new and exciting things that students learn in 3rd grade. I also love the transition that takes place in 3rd grade from "learning to read" to "reading to learn."
In 2023, I reunited with an old college friend and ended up marrying him in 2024. I am a proud Momma to 4 children. Kennedy is in 6th grade and Mark is in 4th grade. My daughter Blythe is a preschooler and she can't wait to join us at big school one day! My bonus son Landon is a freshman at USC-Aiken.
In my spare time, I like to watch Carolina football (GO COCKS!), read, go the movies, exercise, run, drink coffee, go to the beach and spend time with family and friends. I am a member of Stevens Creek Church and I serve at the Augusta Dream Center.
I love: my kids, Jesus, roller coasters, the public library, traveling, chocolate, Starbucks, 90's nostalgia, anything garnet and black, the gym, Tom Petty, summer, red roses, my church, being a cheer/pageant mom and a soccer/basketball/baseball mom and food!
I am also the running club coach here at Jefferson. Running club season starts in February and is open for 1st through 5th grade students. Our season ends in May with a track meet at Midland Valley High School.
