South Carolina Book Awards Program

All of our students have the opportunity to participate in the South Carolina Picture Book Award or South Carolina Children’s Book Award programs that are sponsored by the South Carolina Association of School Librarians. Kindergarten, first, and second grade students will read/listen to the twenty Picture Book Award nominees and vote for their favorite book. Third through fifth graders may read at least five of the Children’s Book Award nominees by February to be eligible to vote for their favorite book. Students around the state vote for the favorite book, and the winners are announced in March each year.
