Heather Loy has been the Library Media Specialist at Wagener-Salley High School (WSHS) since earning her MLIS from USC in 2002. Heather has served as president of the Aiken County Media Educators, president of the SC Association of School Librarians twice, and was Teacher of the Year for WSHS. Her educational passions include technology integration, encouraging students (and staff) to read for pleasure, and encouraging educators to develop and use professional learning networks as a means to continue their own learning and personal growth. In her free time, Heather enjoys reading, learning and playing with new tech gadgets and tools, and developing her photography talents. She received the Aiken County District Distinguished Literacy Teacher Award for WSHS in 2016 and received the Aiken County School District's Secondary Literacy Teacher of the Year Award in 2019.  In 2023, Ms. Loy received the SC Association of School Librarians Distinguished Service Award.  

Mrs. Chavious graduated from Wagener-Salley Adult Ed.  She has been a fixture at WSHS since 1987.  She retired in 2008 and could not stay away, and is now our Media Clerk!  "It has been interesting to have students graduate and now have their kids and grandkids come through!"
