  • Hi! I'm Ms. Hilton! I have been a member of the SMS library for a long time! I have 20 years of experience working in Aiken County Public Schools.

I love to read and spend time with my family. My favorite genre to read is nonfiction. I also love completing crossword puzzles and exercising my mind.

I am from New York, but Aiken, SC is my home now, and I am so happy to be serving the community through the SMS library.

Please stop by the library soon!

    Educational Philosophy

I enjoy learning and the real-world application of knowledge! I aim to facilitate and grow an environment in which students love to learn and explore the world around them. I believe that students should be intrinsically motivated to learn, but I also believe that part of my job is to help foster that intrinsic motivation. I believe that students should have the freedom to make choices in their educational process and feel comfortable voicing their opinions and concerns about their educational process. As a Media Specialist, my goal is to provide all school community members with resources, assistance, and technology to create unique and tailored learning experiences that will promote inquiry and global thinking.
