Ms. Regina Hall

Welcome to Ms. Hall's Counseling Corner!

I am very pleased to be your part-time school counselor serving all grades at North Augusta Elementary School.  I enjoy working with the students, teachers, and parents of North Augusta Elementary to help make this school the wonderful place to learn that it is.

Being a school counselor gives me the opportunity to work with many children and their families on important life skills. I truly believe it is vital for the adults of the future to learn how to communicate and get along with each other and to solve difficult problems without violence. As I work with our students, I hope to be touching the future in a positive way. I will be doing guidance lessons on some Wednesdays and every Thursday and Friday. We will go over different character traits along with doing some mindfulness activities.

I am honored to serve the students of NES, working through the hard times and celebrating the good times.  You can call me at (803) 442-6280 or e-mail me (rhall@acpsd.net) to discuss any issues.  My door is always open.  I look forward to meeting each and every one of you. Let’s make this an awesome year!!!!!!

  • What does School Counseling look like? (Ms. Hall's Schedule is below)

    Classroom Guidance

All students at Hammond Hill Elementary have the opportunity to meet with their school counselors during classroom guidance lessons.  These sessions focus on a specific issue that could negatively impact learning and/or social development and were designed around the American School Counselor Association Standards.

Some of the topics covered are:

    • Middle School Transitions
    • Anger
    • Bullying Awareness/Prevention
    • Kindness
    • Personal Body Safety
    • Self-Esteem
    • Career Awareness
    • Self-Control
    • Internet Safety
    • Empathy
    • Identifying Feelings
    • Friendship
    • Growing Up Boys/Girls (4th/5th grade only)

    Individual Counseling

Students at Hammond Hill Elementary are able to meet one-on-one with with the school counselor to discuss issues that are affecting their academic success.  In order to see the counselor, students may fill out an "I Need Help" request form OR teachers/parents/other school staff refer students.  The "I Need Help" forms are available outside of the counseling office and also in classrooms. School counselors use play therapy techniques such as drawing, games, sandbox, Legos, etc as a way to discuss school counseling goals as outlined by the American School Counselor Association.  This includes helping students reach their academic, personal, social, and career potential.

    Small Group Counseling

Another counseling service available to students at Hammond Hill Elementary is group counseling.  This is done by grade level and topic, such as Friendship Groups, Stress Free Bees, Banana Splits (divorce), and Home Sweet Home (single parent households).  These groups and topics are based on a needs assessment completed by classroom teachers and from parent, teacher, and school staff feedback.  In order for a student to participate in a small group, permission must be obtained by the parents.  Most groups have 5 participants and are held during recess time.  During groups, play therapy (drawing, role-playing, visualization, game play, etc) is used as a way to discuss school counseling goals as outlined by the American School Counselor Assocation.

    Other School Counselor activities

Throughout the year the school counselors present or are involved with many other North Augusta Elementary activities including:

    • Managing the parent volunteer trainings
    • Oversee the North Augusta High School AMP (Athletic Mentor Program)
    • Maintain, promote, and manage the School Bullying Prevention program
    • Implement the Character Education program including Student of the Month photographs, awards, and Character Education bulletin boards
    • Support and promote Positive Behavior Intervention System for NES
    • Implement Kindness Month
