Mrs. Jiminez

Welcome to the 2023-2024 school year! My name is Tiffany Bell Jiminez.  I am beyond thrilled to be an ELA teacher & the FCA Advisor at Paul Knox Middle School! I moved here in July 2012 from southern California, where I lived for 22 years. I grew up in North Augusta so I am happy to be back home in the good 'ole South. I'm a proud graduate of the former Summerfield Elementary, North Augusta Junior High, and North Augusta High School, class of 1990. This is my 28th year teaching and I have previously taught 2nd, 4th, 6th, 7th, and 8th grades.
I attended California State University San Bernardino, where I received a B.A. in Liberal Studies, a minor in English, and a multiple subject California teaching credential. I received a M.A. in Education, with a Reading emphasis, at Chapman University in Orange, California. I now hold a South Carolina certificate for early childhood, elementary, and middle level English Language Arts. My SC certification also includes endorsements for Reading Literacy, Online Teaching, and Gifted & Talented instruction.
I have one son, Kyle Morrell, 24, who graduated from NAHS in 2017. In December 2021, Kyle received a B.S. in Exercise Science from College of Charleston. He is following in my footsteps and has decided to choose a career path in education!  He has accepted a P.E. teaching position in Edgefield County School District beginning with the 2023-24 school year. I also have three cats, Punkin, Mufasa, & Buddy. I am married to Kevin Jiminez (Kevin Jiminez Photography).
Please know that I will care for, love, and treat your children like my own! I look forward to working together with you to help equip them with the knowledge and responsibilities needed to prepare them for the high school years.

My goals for this year are:

*To assist students in becoming responsible for their work and their actions.

*To empower students to view themselves as capable writers.

*To explore new genres of literature and gain confidence in reading skills.

*To create a community of learners that support one another and work together to help each one of us to succeed.
