Hello! I am excited to be your child's Second Grade Teacher, and I really enjoy teaching. I have 22 years experience in education. I have taught 6th, 3rd, and 2nd grade. I have been a Reading Recovery Interventionist for 12 years working closely with 1st grade students. I am prepared and ready to address any need your child may have. I look forward to building a relationship with you and your student to ensure that he/she is successful this year!

I graduated from University of South Carolina - Aiken in 2000 with a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. I earned my Master's degree in Literacy in 2009. I earned my National Board Certification in Early/Middle Childhood Reading/Language Arts in 2009 and renewed this certification in 2019. I am Reading Teacher certified. In addition to these certifications, I have over 30 more graduate hours in literacy education from Clemson University and University of South Carolina - Columbia and Aiken.

I am married to Benjamin Coleman. I have two sons, Jacob and Forrest, and a daughter, Shelby. I am a grandmother to Raine! I love spending time with my family.

We have three dogs and two cats. I look forward to sharing with my students stories about my animals! I'm a big animal lover. I also enjoy the outdoors, watching movies, reading books, singing in the choir, teaching the toddlers in Sunday school, attending church, and  drinking coffee!
