Welcome to Camp Odyssey and I teach World History! I moved to South Carolina in 2011 when I began my teaching career. I have been teaching for the past 11 years and have been working in the district for the past five years.  I will be beginning my 3rd  year teaching at AIS.  I will be teaching world history and a team member for Camp Odyssey.  I have taught middle school for the past five years of teaching high school.  I graduated in 2009 with a B.S. in Education from Kent State University in Kent, Ohio. In 2011, I graduated with a Master's in Education with a concentration in Curriculum and Instruction with a focus on middle school literacy.  I am certified to teach all social studies content in grades 6-12.  I have received my certification for Read 2 Succeed and Gifted and Talented Certifications.  I have begun my doctorate program this year and will be graduating in a little more than three years.  This year I am reading the Battle of the Books selections.  I have been married to my husband, Brian, for the past 27 years and we have two daughters, Amanda and Sarah (both graduates of South Aiken High School).  We also have two dogs as part of our family.  I love to read (mostly historical fiction), travel, crafting, crochet, and photography.  I am also a huge Disney and Mickey Mouse fan.  My husband and I are big sports fans! I love baseball, football, soccer, and hockey and the Ohio State Buckeyes! Of course, I am originally from Ohio!
