Mrs. Michelle Kennedy

Welcome to A. L. Corbett Middle School! I find it an honor to serve as Principal at such a wonderful school.  My work in Education has afforded me the opportunity to serve in a variety capacities to include working as a classroom teacher, a Middle School Assistant Administrator, a Middle School Assistant Principal, an Elementary School Assistant Principal, an Elementary School Principal, and a District Parenting Coordinator. My experiences in Education have afforded me opportunities to become knowledgeable in many facets of school leadership. Prior to joining the ACPSD One Team, I worked in Richland School District Two, Richland One, and Orangeburg Consolidated School District Five.

Our faculty and staff will continue our work to build relationships with scholars, faculty, staff, parents, community members, and business partners.  In addition, we are excited that we will have the opportunity to continue focusing on strategies to improve the academic achievement of our scholars and to assist them with developing as leaders.  We will provide opportunities that will allow for their participation in service-learning, as well as strengthen our character education and mentoring programs.  In addition, we will continue to provide college and career readiness experiences that will be beneficial to our ALCMS Scholars. In all we do, it remains important that our scholars are prepared to become leaders and productive citizens in the future.

I find it a privilege to continue working with each of you.

In partnership,

Michelle B. Kennedy

Mr. Miller Thompson

Dear Students and Parents,

It is my privilege to serve alongside Mrs. Kennedy and the faculty and staff of A.L. Corbett.  Having served middle and high schools in Darlington and Aiken Counties, most recently at North Augusta High School, I am thrilled to return to service in a rural setting.  I believe that all of our scholars are capable of excellence and will do my part to push them to success. Education has the potential to be a great equalizer among our students from all backgrounds.

I aim to be consistent and transparent in all I do.  Please do not hesitate to reach out with questions or concerns; e-mail is the best way to get in touch with me.  I look forward to getting to know the community over this school year.

My wife, Kalei, and I live in North Augusta with our foster children who are ages 5 and 6.  We both grew up and went to school in Edgefield County and are blessed to be back home.  Our family loves to serve in our church and explore new places together.

Peace and blessings,

G. Miller Thompson
