Welcome to Visual Arts!  My name is Dr. Hardin and I have been teaching Visual Arts for over 30 years.  I look forward to helping your child excel and reach their potential. My goal as an educator is to guide your child toward academic success and to help build critical thinking skills that will help them blossom into adulthood. I am dedicated to the well-being of your child and I need your cooperation in helping him/her reach his potential. The art room is a wonderful space for creative work. It's large, full of light, and contains many, many materials. Art appreciation and art history classes are a combination of traditional academic fare and hands-on art work. The course varies in content so as not to be repetitious for those students who may re-enroll during their sixth grade year. Art history and art appreciation units are taught through books, videos, and research. Sometimes, students have projects which require writing. Visual art units include individual and group projects. Mask making, drawing, painting, found object sculpture, and calligraphy are a few of the additional areas that are explored in sculpture and drawing.

The best time to reach me is 11:00-12:00 M-F.
