Week 1 (Aug 16-20) Orientation
Welcome back to a new school year! This week we will go over rules and library information on the first week of school for 4K - 5th grades.

Week 2 (Aug 23-27)

Once there, click on the book covers to hear some amazing lessons to help you learn between fiction and nonfiction (4K - 5K), to help you learn how to take care of books (1st and 2nd grades), and to help you learn how take care of your laptop. (3rd - 5th grades).
Week 3 (Aug 30-Sep 3)
5K and 1st grade will look at David Shannon books; 2nd grade will have a lesson on Guide words; 3rd-5th grades will learn about how to access books in the library catalog.
Week 4 (Sep 7-10)
5K and 1st grade will look at Eric Litwin books; 2nd grade will have a lesson on character traits; 3rd-5th grades will learn about digital citizenship.
Week 5 (Sept 13-17)
5K and 1st grades will be sitting on reading rug and listening to books on audio; Second grades will hear Arnold Lobel stories; 3rd, 4th and 5th grades will have lessons on Cyberbullying/Digital Citizenship.
Week 6 (Sept 20-24)
5K and 1st grades will be listening to books on DVD; Second grades through 5th grades will have lessons on Email.
Week 7 (Sept 27-Oct 1)
Early release all week means we will have shortened specials time; so we will be reading books from Tumblebooks (through SCDiscus.org).
Week 8 (Oct 4-8)
Kinders through 2nd grade will read past SCPBA winners and compare the characters to themselves. Third grade will have a Spine label game as their library challenge. Fourth and Fifth grades will look at PebbleGo Next from SCDiscus.org and begin researching facts on a famous person.
Week 9 (Oct 11-15)
5K- 2nd grades are looking at 2 of our SCPBA Nominees and are finding words and pictures that show feelings/emotions. Grade 3 are learning about Figurative Language. Grades 4 and 5 are going to continue research on their famous person and then begin creating a PowerPoint presentatation.
Week 10 (Oct 18-22)
5K -2nd grades will learn how to make inferences to be critical readers. 3rd Grade will play a game called Media Motion to show they know the different areas in the library and book parts. 4th and 5th grades will continue with their Biography reports in PowerPoint.
Week 11 (Oct 25-29)
This contains Halloween stories and songs for 5K thru 2nd grade. Third grade slide is on crazy animal names. Fourth and Fifth grades will be finishing their biography PowerPoint slides.
Week 12 (Nov 1 - 5)
Kinders - 2nd will be reading books and answering questions using Bloom's Taxonomy. Third grade will begin research on animals and complete a Pre-Planning PowerPoint sheet. Fourth and fifth grades will begin presenting their PowerPoints.
Week 13 (Nov 8 - 12)
Kinders - 2nd will be reading books and answering questions using 5 W's. Third grade will begin PowerPoint Animal Project. Fourth and fifth grades will begin presenting their PowerPoints.
Thanksgiving
This contains Thanksgiving stories and songs for 4K through 2nd grade.
December Celebrations
Links to stories about Christmas, Kwanzaa and Hanukkah are included.
