Students and Parents,

As part of your journey to middle school, we invite you to register for band and join our band family! This course is available to all rising 6th graders. The majority of students who join band have no musical experience. We will teach your students everything they need to succeed. Students who join a middle school band program have the opportunity to learn to play an instrument. Beginning Band performs a winter and a spring concert, but does not require any after school rehearsals. In 7th and 8th grade students have the opportunity to perform with the pep band, the concert band, and have the opportunity to go on field trips such as Region 2 Honor Band, Aiken County Honor Band, SC Allstate Band and other band trips such as Carowinds, and Six Flags, and more!

We invite you to watch the videos found below to find out more about band and playing instruments. Most importantly, we invite all parents to find out more about how BAND can help your child improve grades and perhaps qualify for financial assistance in college! 

If your child is on the fence about joining the band, we would suggest signing them up now.  Due to scheduling issues, we can guarantee getting them in band if they are signed up now.  Band is a wonderful activity that will not only teach your child music, but will help students develop leadership skills, decision-making skills, understand the importance of teamwork. This is your first step to becoming a Band member at Highland Springs, North Augusta or Paul Knox Middle Schools! Please fill out the Beginning Band Application at the VERY BOTTOM of this page.
