My name is Darlene H. Bacon, and I am your child’s first grade teacher for the 2023-24 school year. This is my second year at North Aiken. Last year, I taught reading intervention from kindergarten through fifth grade; it was a wonderful experience to work with students on their reading journey. I am looking forward to a fabulous year in first grade!

I was born and raised in Aiken, SC. Fun fact: I was also a student at North Aiken elementary! I moved away for military service after high school, and have recently returned in 2019. When I am not teaching, I enjoy sightseeing, reading, and spending time on the phone with my two children: Alexis (22) and John (19) who live in Arizona.
