Basics

Hello! This is my 11th year teaching 2nd grade, and there is not another job I'd rather have. Outside of school, I live with my husband, two children, two dogs, and three cats. I like to spend time with my family, wandering in nature, reading books, or visiting with friends.

Childhood

While I was born in upstate New York, my parents settled in Aiken when I was 3. I attended Aiken Elementary, Kennedy Middle, and South Aiken High schools. When I was young, I wanted to be a pink Power Ranger, but I ultimately decided that I had always been a teacher at heart.

Education

I chose to attend College of Charleston and USCA to earn my Bachelor’s in Early Childhood Education in December 2012. Later, I added a Master’s in Teaching in May 2020. I have accumulated Read to Succeed and virtual endorsements on my certificate. During the 2022-2023 school year, I received the Golden Apple Award.

I love learning how to be a better teacher in order to help shape the future.
