Mr. Keith Champion

Dear Parent or Guardian,

 I want to take this opportunity to introduce myself and express my excitement about working with your child/children this year. This is my twentieth year teaching Science in South Carolina, and my seventh year at Silver Bluff. I have lived in Aiken, South Carolina for the past nineteen years, and hold a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Geology from Dalhousie University in Canada. I am certified in General Science, as well as being AP and R2S endorsed. I currently can teach and tutor any subject in the Science Department and am always willing to learn with the student when they need help.

 I am very excited to be teaching Chemistry, Earth Science AP Environmental Science and yes Forensic Science this year. My career began in Canada where I worked for the Geological Survey of Canada, then ODNR.  Upon relocating to the US I was hired by Ohio EPA. I believe students can grow and develop by critically thinking about the knowledge and skills we cover in my classes. The main goal of my courses is to prepare students to be life-long learners and help students develop a D.R.E.A.M (Diligence, Responsibility, Engagement, Attitude, and Motivation). Over the course of this year, we will cover scientific theory and discover how life on Earth is functioning either through a biological outlook or a physical science outlook.

Please read those syllabii and sign the student/parent contracts given on the first day of school to indicate your understanding and support of the classroom system. Also note that if you ever have any comments, questions or concerns, I am available for phone calls and meetings (by appointment please) each day before and after school.
