Degrees and Certifications:

BS Art Education, MA Curriculum and Instruction, MS Business Administration

Mrs. Carmen Holley

I have had a lifelong love of the arts. I attended The University of South Carolina, and graduated with a degree in Art Education. I later earned a Masters in Curriculum and Instruction from Lesley University in Boston, as well as a Masters of Business Administration from Walden University in Minnesota. My teaching experience spans the last 22 years in Newberry County as well as Aiken County.

I have a passion to help students become better problem solvers in all areas of their lives, by teaching them to be more creative. Creativity helps one see things differently and better deal with uncertainty. Studies show that creative people are better able to live with uncertainty because they can adapt their thinking to allow for positivity and joy.  I teach Art 1, 2, & 3 as well as Middle School Art.

I have continued my pursuit of creativity with the start up of a travel agency in September 2016, Sweet Magnolia Travel, LLC.  Digital Media is my passion, but I also enjoy painting portraits and creating collages, as well as creating ceramics.

Beyond artistic pursuits I enjoy time with my family, traveling, cooking and shopping. I am a member of the Women's Association of Batesburg-Leesville, participating in projects to raise money for education and charitable projects in the community.
