LBC Welcomes New Principal

For Immediate Release
CASEY ROGERS NAMED PRINCIPAL AT L-B-C MIDDLE SCHOOL

Casey Rogers has poured his heart and creativity into the students, faculty and staff at Langley-
Bath-Clearwater (LBC) Middle School as a teacher and assistant principal over the last four years.
He will continue in a new role as the school’s principal during the 2020-21 school year.
Aiken County Board of Education members approved Rogers’ appointment as the new principal at
LBC Middle School during the school board’s May 12 regularly scheduled meeting, held virtually
due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic. Paul Spadaro, the school’s current leader, previously
accepted a new district-level position in Greenwood School District 51.
“I am just excited to continue being a part of the LBC Middle School family and serving the
community in a new capacity,” Meek stated Wednesday.
Rogers says his tenure at LBC Middle has allowed him to build important relationships with
students, parents and faculty members. That time has also allowed him to build another critical
element vital to the success of any school community – trust.
“Being here at LBC Middle has given me the opportunity each step of the way to build those
relationships and trust with students, parents, the faculty and other stakeholders,” stated Rogers.
“It has been neat to see parents become even more engaged in their student’s education.”
One of the school’s initiatives Rogers is most excited to continue in the future is the school’s
thematic program of Personalized Digital Learning, which has a goal to bring each student up-todate
technology in the form of a new laptop device.
“We will be in year two of a three-year rollout which blends the talents of our teachers with the
advantages of technology for each student,” commented Rogers. “This will help us bring equity
across the board to our students. It will bring them the advantages of technology that modern students need by helping them learn in new and innovative ways.”
For Rogers, the launch of the school’s thematic program put LBC Middle in great position when the school district turned to distance learning following the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic.
“I don’t believe there was a school more prepared for distance learning than LBC Middle, and it’s because of our thematic program,” added Rogers. “Our teachers had been trained extensively in online-based programs and our students were used to interacting with their teachers in that format so we were really set up for success with distance learning.”
Rogers’ academic background includes a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education from the University of South Carolina, and a Masters of Education degree from Augusta State University.
Prior to serving as an assistant principal and social studies teacher at LBC Middle, Rogers served as a teacher for five years in Darlington County Public Schools.
“We just had our first good report card rating in the school’s history and we are not stopping there,” stated Rogers. “We were only two points away from an excellent rating this year so we fully expect to be excellent moving forward. That’s our first goal. I am really looking forward to continuing the tradition of pride and excellence here and serving the community in this new role.”
Rogers will begin his new position as LBC Middle School principal in July.
