    Students will need to understand that different genres may have different structures that can impact the overall meaning of the text.

    This YouTube tube video will help students understand that theme is a universal message the author wants the reader to learn.  

    This will help your child gain meaning by understanding text features.

    This video will review the author's purpose as it is taught in their reading book. 

    The video will remind students about text structure. Have them read a passage at home to see if they can show what they know about text structure. 

    Dance to this video while learning about point of view. 

    WORD WORK

    Your child will need context clues to help them figure out the meaning of unfamiliar words in a passage. 

    Test your child's knowledge of synonyms and antonyms. 

     

    Knowing that words can have more than one meaning can improve the comprehension of a passage. 

     

    This video is a reminder of words that sound the same but have a different meaning.
