Master Chief Steve Crossland is a native of Gilbert, South Carolina and enlisted in the Navy in May 2000.  He holds a Master of Arts in Organizational Management with a specialization in Human Resources Management from Ashford University since June 2010.

He began his career attending Recruit Training in Great Lakes, Illinois and follow on training at the Navy Yeoman "A" School at Naval Station Meridan, Mississippi.  From there, his career took him on numerous campaigns and deployments around the world and his family to duty stations in Florida, South Carolina, Tennessee, California, Washington State, Michigan, Maryland, and Illinois.  Master Chief Crossland retired from the Navy in June 2023 and began working for Midland Valley High School as a Navy JROTC Naval Science Instructor in July 2023.

CMC Crossland has been married for 17 years and has two small children attending Leavelle McCampbell Middle School and Byrd Elementary School.
