Ms. Janice M. Bledsoe

Born in St. Louis, MO, I later moved with my family to the San Francisco Bay Area.   There, at the University of California at Berkeley, I earned a B.A. in Comparative Literature, with a major emphasis on German and a minor emphasis on Spanish.  I was very fortunate to be able to spend my undergraduate junior year abroad in Goettingen, Germany, a lovely university town in central Germany.  I then returned to Berkeley and completed my M.A. in Comparative Literature, focusing this time on the German and English languages and literatures.  After completing my master's degree, I once again returned to Germany, where I lived in Tuebingen, a very old and beautiful university town on the Neckar River in southwestern Germany.

I now live in Augusta, GA and have two grown children, one who is teaching Ecology at the University of Arizona, and the other who is a rising junior  at Bryn Mawr College in Pennsylvania.  In my spare time I enjoy reading, traveling, visiting with friends, baking, making jewelry, drawing and painting, and bike-riding.

I am excited to be rejoining the Midland Valley High School family and look forward to sharing the wonderful German language and culture with the students here!

Please feel free to contact me at jbledsoe@acpsd.net!  I would be happy to hear from you!
