Hello! I have teaching experience in English and Special Education. I have also taught Theater and Creative Writing, as well as been Department Chair of the Special Education and English Departments. I was proud to be voted Teacher of the Year in 2016 at North Panola High School in Sardis, Mississippi.

After graduating from Northwest Mississippi Community College with a degree in Graphic Arts, I worked for The Commercial Appeal newspaper in Memphis, Tennessee for 10 years. Though teaching is my second career, it is definitely my life's joy.

I moved to South Carolina in 2019 from North Mississippi with my daughters, Arizona, a 26-year-old chemical engineer, and Phoenix, an 8-year-old dancing princess. I have a passion for smiley faces, audiobooks, competition television, and puzzles. My parents, a guidance counselor and a teacher's assistant, had 10 children, nine of whom entered the education arena, so teaching is definitely in my blood.

I am excited to be a part of the Midland Valley family!

During the summer, I caught up on my TV shows, read books, visited with family, and spent time with my children. I'm looking forward to a great school year!
