Ms. Meribeth Ihnen

This will be my fourth year teaching ESOL at Midland Valley.  I am very excited about continuing on this journey and helping students reach their full potential.  I have been at MVHS for 7 years.  I previously taught the SCHS Credential program. I hold certificates in both Georgia and South Carolina. I came from teaching English at the Middle School level but I really love my High Schoolers.  This year marks my 34th year of teaching and I still love my job.  I am proud to be a Midland Valley Mustang!

Before teaching in Sandersville, Georgia and then moving to Aiken, I taught for 19 years in Florida, where my children were born and went to school.  I am married to the same sweet man (for 37 years) and have 2 grown children, 4 grand-daughters, and 4 grand dogs.  My son is an attorney in Knoxville, Tennessee, where he and his wife and girls live. My daughter works in the Service Industry in Aiken.  She and her 2 children live in Aiken.   I have 2 dogs. 1 dachsund named  Dooley and during our "shelter at home" order in 2020, I adopted a mixed breed dog named Hondo. He is a sweet black and white dog that loves the dachshund and people, but doesn't like other dogs.  That is probably a good thing, otherwise, I would adopt too many dogs.   When I am not teaching, my husband and I enjoy riding in his jeep and spending time at home watching college football, Survivor, Big Brother, and Netflix.  (I watch way too much TV)

I grew up in Tennessee and I am a diehard Volunteers fan.

GO VOLS!
