Welcome to AP Human Geography

  • The AP Human Geography course introduces students to the systematic study of patterns and processes that have shaped human understanding, use, and alteration of Earth's surface. Students learn to employ spatial concepts and landscape analysis to examine human socioeconomic organization and its environmental consequences. They also learn about methods and tools geographers use in their research and applications. This course is designed as a curricular equivalent of an introductory level college course. This course is reading intensive and includes case studies, videos, research projects, written assignments and more. It is imperative that each student pace themselves accordingly as to not fall behind in coursework.

    The “Why of Where” :

Human Geography is the study of where human activities take place on Earth and why they take place there.
