Born in Augusta, GA, I am a native to the area.  I moved away at the age of 19 to join the US Army and see the world.  After my service time was done, I attended Georgia Southern College and majored in Communication Arts and Journalism.  I earned my Master's degree in Technology from Georgia Southern University.  My teaching certification was earned from Georgia State University.  I have worn many different hats in my career – writer, editor, deejay, broadcaster, chef, firefighter, entrepreneur – and the list goes on. 

I played, coached, and refereed a sport called Rugby where I played several different positions as a forward in the Scrum.  Rugby is the second largest sport in the world and is played in almost every country on earth.  

I am the proud father of 2 grown sons and 2 beautiful granddaughters.
