My name is Phil Sirk and I am truly looking forward to what promises to be a great experience in my third year teaching at Jackson and 16^th overall in Aiken County.  Our focus this year is all things geography, including not only where things are but why they are, as well. 

Growing up in Maryland (Go Terps!) in proximity to Washington, DC I have always had an interest in social studies and I bring that into the classroom each day.  My wife and I moved to South Carolina in 2005 and after 25 years in business management, I started teaching three years later.

I have four adult “kids” and five grandchildren.  One son lives in Las Vegas, another in Los Angeles, another in Portland, OR, and my daughter is in Germany!  I'm pretty sure that my interest in geography stems from trying to keep track of where they all are!
