• ARRIVAL TO SCHOOL

Supervision for students is provided beginning at 7:30 a.m. Buses are not to unload nor are parents to drop off students before 7:30 a.m due to a lack of supervision. Upon arrival between 7:30 a.m. and 8:00 a.m., car riders will be dropped off in front of the cafeteria and students are to report to their assigned areas. Students may receive permission to go to the library for research or the band room to drop off an instrument.

    END OF DAY DISMISSAL

Student dismissal is at 3:10 p.m. Students must report to designated areas immediately. Walkers are to leave campus immediately. Car riders are to report to the front of the school immediately, and must remain there until picked up. Bus riders are to report to the gym immediately and remain in designated areas.

    WALKERS:

Due to recent concerns about cross walk needs, it is my intent to announce and communicate an adjustment in our current procedures for students who walk home every afternoon. We will follow and expect students to adhere to the following procedure every afternoon from this day forward:

    * Students who walk home will be dismissed at same time as bus riders each afternoon.

    * Students who walk home will safely cross car line traffic with assistance from supervisory team of teachers and will ensure a law enforcement vehicle is parked in the median and an officer is available for crossing each afternoon.

    * If a vehicle and officer are not present, students will turn around and walk back to the school flagpole and stand on the raised sidewalk.

    * Students will remain on the raised sidewalk at the flagpole until a school employee walks the group of students down to the cross walk.

If a law enforcement officer is present at crossing, the students may safely walk down the sidewalk in small groups or individuals as it fits needs communicated by parents. Our goal for this letter and verbal communication with students is to add extra measures of safety for all children. We will need cooperation from students and parents to ensure this takes place daily. As always, we are open to feedback about our process.
